You are reading the first entry of The Dock Report. This is where the Barely Certified Club writes things down now. New drops, conditions we misread, stories that grow an inch every time they get told, and the occasional field guide for a hobby that mostly beats us. Consider this your orientation.

So what does barely certified actually mean

Here is the whole idea. Nobody feels certified. The guy who backs his trailer in one smooth motion still birdnests a baitcaster twice a season. The lady who limited out by 8am rewatched a knot video in the truck first. Everyone on the water is improvising more than they let on.

And it is bigger than fishing. Everybody is living life for the first time. Nobody got a practice round. The first day at anything is the first day, and honestly, so are most of the days after that.

So this club has no advanced tier. Membership is for showing up anyway: tying the knot, losing the fish, telling the story a little bigger, and coming back Saturday.
